John Banner Randleman was an early industralist involved in the organizing and running of Union Factory, later Randleman Mfg. Co. and other local cotton mills. The town was named for him in 1876.

Died at Randlemans
July 12, 1879
Aged 51 Yrs. 10 M's & 1 D

   

 

John H. Ferree came to Randleman circa 1848 and started Union Factory with several other investors. He was, also, the principal investor/owner of the Plaidville and Marie Antoinette Cotton Mills. The Marie Antoinette was named for his daughters. Mr. Ferree donated money for the building of the brick St. Paul M.E. Church South.
